"L'enseignement du français à Palerme au XIXe siècle" est le résultat d'un long dépouillement de documents d'archives et de textes présents dans les bibliothèques palermitaines. Il prend en considération les différents paramètres de l'acte éducatif : statut du français, écoles, professeurs, élèves, programmes, manuels et méthodologies. Cette recherche embrasse une longue période: de 1800 à 1900. Cela permet de nous rendre compte des modifications résultant du changement de dynastie dans les écoles publiques et privées palermitaines.

This paper offers the achievements and lacks of the studies on local power in the ancient Kingdom of Valencia during the XIXth century. The breakdown of the Ancien Regime by the liberal revolution is the point of departure. The process of social change started whith the revolution continued ever after the failure of the democratic experience thet begun at 1868. To discuss these topics (not always shared by spanish historians), it would be proposed the analysis of local cases during long-termed periods and a social approach to politics, specially referred to attitudes and action of lower social groups.

The article is dedicated to the issue of nineteenth-century inns and alcohol abuse in Silesia of the time. It contains data on the legislative efforts o f the Prussian authorities to solve the problem of alcoholism , and also describes the history o f social sobriety movements inspired by the Catholic Church. Using the historical documentation contained in the court protocols from the Strzelce County, examined was the actual freąuency o f cases in which alkohol played a role. The conclusion transpired that administrative bans issued by the Prussian authorities and the efforts o f the Catholic Church could have been effective.
